TORONTO (AP) — Toronto signed forward DeMarre Carroll on Thursday, a week after the forward originally announced his deal with the Raptors on Twitter.

The team held a press conference for the 28-year-old Carroll, who agreed to a four-year deal worth $60 million.

Carroll announced he was joining the Raptors on Twitter on July 1 when the free agency window opened.

Carroll, who averaged 12.6 points and 5.3 rebounds in 70 games for the Atlanta Hawks last season, was touted as one of the top players available at his position.

A strong defender and outside shooting threat, Carroll started 69 games and helped the Hawks to a franchise-high 60 wins and the No. 1 seed in the playoffs last season.

He suffered a knee injury in Game 1 of the third round against Cleveland.

The Raptors also signed Canadian guard Cory Joseph and Luis Scola and waived oft-traded guard Luke Ridnour on Thursday.

The 23-year-old Joseph spent his first four NBA seasons with the San Antonio Spurs, helping them win the league title in 2014. He played in 79 games this past season with the Spurs, averaging 6.8 points, 2.4 rebounds and 2.4 assists.

The 6-foot-9 Scola averaged 20.5 minutes, 9.4 points and 6.5 rebounds with the Indiana Pacers last season.

Toronto had acquired Ridnour and cash considerations from the Oklahoma City Thunder on June 30 for the draft rights to forward Tomislav Zubcic.

While the players had already confirmed the deals, NBA rules prevented the team from announcing them until Thursday.
