UPDATE: THE JUDGE PRESIDING OVER LETT AND HINTON’S FIRST APPEARANCE SET BOND FOR EACH OF THEM AT $200,000. $100,000 FOR EACH CHARGE.
THE JUDGE ALSO GRANTED THE STATE’S REQUEST TO IMPLEMENT A NO CONTACT PROVISION FOR LETT AND HINTON, PREVENTING THEM FROM CONTACTING THE VICTIM OR ANYONE CLOSE TO HER.
Authorities said charges have been upgraded for one of suspects accused in a missing person investigation.
Shannon Hinton was initially charged with accessory before the fact. She is now facing kidnapping and sexual battery charges.
Hinton and Natalie Lett are expected to be in municipal court Wednesday afternoon.
HATTIESBURG, Miss. (WJTV) — A 13-year-old girl reported missing in Hattiesburg has been located.
HPD said the victim was found in Biloxi.
Officers said Tuesday they arrested 23-year-old Natalie Lett and 38-year-old Shannon Hinton in connection with this missing person case.
Lett was charged with kidnapping and sexual battery. Hinton was charged with accessory before the fact of kidnapping and accessory before the fact of sexual battery.
The victim was safely returned to her parent, HPD said. The investigation is ongoing.
