A boy from Laurel made his way to the New Orleans Super Dome to compete in an NFL competition. Ashton Magee is ten years old and has loved football for as long as his mother can remember.
The competition is called Punt, Pass, Kick and in September Magee competed at the local level at Laurel High School where he won first place. He then went on to compete in Meridian for the state competition and won first place again. Magee then advanced to the next level at the Super Dome where he came in third place.
His goal is to play for the Saints one day, “I love football a lot, and I love playing, I hope to be an NFL player one day,” says Magee.
Punt, Pass, Kick was established in 1961 and is the oldest youth NFL football program.
