JONES COUNTY, Miss. (WHLT) — A man is taken into custody after authorities said they found him in possession of a gun at the airport.
Police arrested Kendrick Holder Jr. on Friday.
Sheriff’s deputies were called to the Hattiesburg-Laurel Regional Airport after a TSA officer discovered the gun. They said the weapon was found in Holder’s bag. They also found two rounds in the magazine mixed in with his clothes.
Authorities were able to determine that the gun was stolen out of Lamar County and that Holder was a convicted felon. He told deputies that he was sentenced to the Mississippi State Penitentiary in 2011 for Possession of Marijuana and went back in 2012 on a violation.
He is facing charges of possession of a stolen firearm and possession of by a felon.
