Man wanted in Jones County shooting investigation in custody

UPDATE: Authorities said the man wanted in connection with a shooting is in custody.

David Keyes was caught at the intersection of Ed Mayfield and Salem School Roads. Deputies said they also found the weapon they believe was used in the shooting. Keyes also admitted to the investigator that he shot the woman.

He is charged with aggravated assault domestic violence.


JONES COUNTY, Miss. (WHLT) — A man is wanted in Jones County in connection with a shooting.

Deputies are looking for 44-year-old David Keyes. They said he should be considered armed and dangerous.

Authorities accused Keyes of following a woman to her job and confronting her. Keyes allegedly shot the woman one time and left the scene. The victim was an acquaintance of Keyes, according to officials.

Deputies said he left the scene in a silver Ford Focus rental car. They said he could be in a 2006 white GMC truck.
