JONES COUNTY, Miss. (WHLT) – A Jones County man has been arrested for the neglect of his wife and daughter.

The Jones County Sheriff’s Department was dispatched to a home on Lower Myrick Road on Sunday, April 3, 2016, for a welfare check. Deputies learned the mother was suffering from “a terminal and debilitating disease”.
Her only caregiver was her 14-year-old daughter.
The daughter states Kilgore would come by the house on weekday mornings, from Soso where he was staying with his girlfriend, to wake her for school and leave shortly after.
She also states Kilgore would drop off hot dogs, chocolate, and some soda to last for the week every Sunday. She goes on to say Kilgore distributed soap, deodorant, and detergents seldom, stating those items were not important.
Kilgore had not lived in the home with his wife and daughter in months.
Nearby neighbors state the mother and daughter lived in horrible conditions. The home had no hot water, mold, limited furniture and supplies for cooking, cleaning or personal hygiene.
The mother and daughter have been removed from the home. The mother is now being cared for by EMSERV and the daughter is now with family.
