TYLERTOWN, Miss. (WHLT) — The Walthall County Emergency Management Agency is preparing for a major flood event near Tylertown.
They said the Bogue Chitto River is quickly rising.
Roland Vandenweghe, the Walthall County EMA Director, said the river has already reached major flood stage levels. They expect the water to continue to rise until Saturday morning. It’s expected to crest at 32′ by Sunrise.
We’re told the last time the river was this high, Hurricane Isaac was passing through the state. The river rose to about 30′.
The EMA is expecting widespread flooding.
