Students evacuated at North Forrest High School after smoke in building

FORREST COUNTY, Miss. (WHLT) — Students were evacuated from North Forrest High School Wednesday morning after someone spotted smoke coming into a building.

As officials assessed the situation, students left the building as a precaution around 10 a.m.

We’re told that the smoke was caused by a fan motor on a heating unit. No fire was discovered.

Students were able to go back to class around 11 a.m. Crews are working to fix the problem.

No one was injured.
