NEW ORLEANS (AP) – New Orleans police say state Sen. Troy Brown punched a woman in the eye during a hotel argument over the weekend.
Police say the 44-year-old Brown was booked early Sunday morning with domestic abuse battery. Court records show Brown was released from jail after posting a $3,000 bond.
Police spokesman Tyler Gamble said the argument began in a hotel room.
Brown said in statement to multiple media outlets he could not recall what happened. He said a traffic accident in 1991 resulted in brain damage and caused short term memory loss.
Brown represents District Two which includes parts of St. Charles and St. John the Baptist parishes.
