COLUMBIA, Miss – A short vacation to Gatlinburg leaves one man accused of sexual battery.
According to Investigator Rita Pickering with the Columbia Police Department, Issac Brown,59, was arrested Monday and charged with sexual battery by an authority figure.
Pickering said, “This case occurred during the summer while the female child was under 16 years of age.”
Authorities said Brown took his daughter and the female victim on a vacation to Gatlinburg, Tennessee before school began.
“The victim was entrusted in the custody of Brown who was her pastor and godfather to the victim,” Pickering said.
Pickering says since the alleged incident occurred out-of-state she is working with the Gatlinburg Police Department and The Department of Human Services.
Brown is Pastor of Owen Chapel Baptist Church in Columbia.
He’s being held at Marion-Walthall Regional Correctional Facility.
