JONES COUNTY, MS (WHLT) – One man has been arrested after a break-in at Centerville Baptist Church.

Jones County police responded to a possible burglary call at the church on Saturday, September 5, 2015. Surveillance footage showed a male suspect breaking into a storage building located behind the church.

While police were at the church taking a report on Monday, September 7, 2015, a deputy noticed a man near the property who matched the suspect’s description.

It was discovered that the man, identified as 23-year-old William Ainsworth, Jr., was wanted by MDOC for violation of his parole.

Ainsworth, who is from Heidelberg, was transported to the Jones County Adult Detention Center. He later admitted to the break-in during an interview.

An official release says “church officials found nothing missing.”

The suspect is scheduled to initially appear in court on September 8, 2015.
