Mississippi has second lowest gas prices in the country

HATTIESBURG, MS (WHLT) – Labor Day weekend is one of the busiest holidays for American drivers.

Today, gasbuddy.com ranks Mississippi as the state with the second lowest gas price average in the country. South Carolina takes the #1 spot.

According to the website, Mississippi’s average price for regular gas is $2.01.

In Hattiesburg, Gas Buddy says Sam’s Club on U.S. Highway 98 has the lowest price at $1.91.

The state with the highest gas prices on the list is Alaska, at $3.18 per gallon for regular gas.

Alabama, Tennessee and Louisiana follow behind Mississippi.
