DuPree to serve as Vice Chair of U.S. EPA Committee

HATTIESBURG, Miss – Mayor Johnny DuPree has been selected by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to serve as Vice-Chair of its Small Community Advisory Subcommittee. Dupree will serve in this position until June 30, 2016.

The agency said Mayor DuPree’s, “Experience and perspective are particularly valuable to EPA as we explore ways in which national policy might affect state and local governments.”

Last year, Mayor DuPree was selected to assist the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Local Government Advisory Committee (LGAC) in developing a stronger partnership with local governments and building state and local capacity to deliver environmental services and programs. DuPree will hold this position until June 30, 2017.

The LGAC is charted under the Federal Advisory Committee Act, which regulates and governs its operation, including public participation and access to documents.
