PERRY COUNTY, Miss – A major drug bust in Perry County yesterday left one man behind bars.
The Perry County Sheriff’s Department along with agents of the 12th Judicial Task force and Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics raided a home off Old River Road. Information was obtained that led them to seize 37 marijuana plants, two 2caliber semi automatic pistols and $15,800 dollars in cash.
Laron Lee Terhune, 52, was arrested and charged with Manufacturing of Marijuana and Possession of a Weapon by a Convicted Felon.
Perry County Sheriff Danny Smith said he credits this bust to cooperation with agencies, “I have worked diligently to enhance our relationship with these agencies to better fight the narcotics in our county. These officers and deputies are doing a great job for our county and I appreciate the work they do,” Sheriff Smith stated.
Sheriff Smith also added, “This makes approximately $29,000.00 dollars seized in the last two weeks in Perry County by deputies and Agents.”
Terhune’s bond was set at $35,000 dollars on the Manufacturing of Marijuana and $20,000 on the Possession of a Weapon by a Convicted Felon charge.
