HATTIESBURG, Miss – David Tee Campbell, 40, of Seminary is accused with possession and distribution of child pornography.

Campbell appeared before Magistrate Judge Michael Parker Tuesday in Federal Court.

Several witnesses testified on behalf of Campbell such as his wife, Mary Campbell and father, David Terry Campbell. An agent from the Department of Homeland Security testified on behalf of the State of Mississippi.

According to the agent’s testimony, this investigation began in November of 2014. The agent received information that an email address, daveshop128, belonging to Campbell, was used to send a video featuring a pre-teen engaging in sexual activities.

Campbell was identified by February of 2015 through his AT&T and Gmail accounts. A second search warrant was executed Friday, June 5th. Several items were recovered during that search, including two smart phones, a Kindle Fire, and other electronic devices.

Prior to searching the devices, Campbell waived his rights and told the agent videos and images would be found on the phone and tablet.

The agent told the court 64 videos were on the tablet that involved sexually explicit activities. Of those 64 videos, the only one reviewed featured a male engaging in sexual acts with a toddler. It’s unclear at this time if Campbell is the male in the video.

Despite not having prior felony convictions and this investigation being in the preliminary stages, Judge Parker stated that the “evidence weighs against the defendant.” Campbell was denied bond pending the case being resolved.

Campbell is a Truck driver operator who works mainly out of Texas. Campbell and his wife have two children.
