HATTIESBURG, Miss. – Two football players from The University of Southern Mississippi have gone before the court for initial appearances.
Bond was set at $125,000 total for Kyle Foster, 22, and James Cox, 20.
$50,000 for armed robbery charge
$50,000 for kidnapping charge
$25,000 for burglary charge
Just a week before summer football practice begins, the pair was ordered by the court to wear ankle bracelets if they bond out.
According to Lt. Jon Traxler with Hattiesburg Police Department, the men were arrested Wednesday.
Police say the charges are related to an incident that happened at The Cottages Apartments on Beverly Hills Road, around 9 a.m.
Both are wide receivers for the Southern Miss football team.
According to Foster’s attorney, he is a senior Criminal Justice Major. Cox is a junior.
Here’s what Southern Miss Sports Information Director Jack Duggan told WHLT22:
“We have been made aware of this situation and we are continuing to gather information at this time.”
Hattiesburg PD says the investigation is ongoing.
