Oak Grove athletic director Chris McCardle confirms with WHLT that head football coach Nevil Barr retired from his 14-year post with the 6A powerhouse Tuesday afternoon. A source says he first met with his players to inform them of his decision, which comes just a few weeks after former Oak Grove defensive coordinator Casey Cain accepted the head coaching position at Harrison Central. Barr walks away from the game on top, having led the Warriors to back-to-back MHSAA Football State Championship games. Oak Grove won it all in 2013, but fell short in overtime to South Panola in 2014.
