Hattiesburg, MS — Fans of Southern Miss football who reside in the Pine Belt will now have the opportunity to watch two of the team’s away games this season on WHLT 22.
WHLT 22 acquired the rights to air the Saturday, October 4th game against Middle Tennessee State University at 11:00 am CST and the Saturday, October 18th game against North Texas at 6:00 pm CST.
WHLT 22 coordinated with Sinclair Broadcast Group to broadcast the two Southern Miss games on the American Sports Network.
“We are thrilled to bring Golden Eagle football home to the Pine Belt,” said William Cromwell, General Manager of WHLT 22. “This unique program opportunity will be a big win for WHLT 22 viewers and Southern Miss fans who are unable to travel to away games.”
“Our goal is to support the University, and along with WHLT 22 televising these away games, we look forward to doing everything possible to assist in filling up The Rock when the Eagles are at home.” Cromwell stated.
WHLT 22 is the CBS affiliate in the Hattiesburg-Laurel, MS market and is a Media General owned station. Viewers can receive WHLT 22 over the air on channel 22.1 or they can check with their local cable or satellite provider see what channel they need to watch to view the Southern Miss games.
