The following is a press release from the Jones County Sheriff’s Department.
JONES CO., Miss. – Two Petal men are under arrest for a Residential and Auto Burglary in Jones County.
Jones County Sheriff’s Department deputies were dispatched to the 200 block of Courtney Creek Road in reference to a larceny complaint.
The deputy was advised by the victim he was in the process of building a new home when he discovered the items were missing.
The victim stated whoever took the missing items knew where he kept them and when he would not be at the home.
A witness was able to identify the suspects and their automobile.
The victim further stated when he went to speak to a person of interest concerning his missing items, he noticed his baby blue Onan K450 Generator sitting on the porch of the residence.
After confronting the suspect, the victim gave him two hours to return the stolen items.
Later in the evening, the suspect texted the victim and informed him he had returned some of the stolen items and placed them in their driveway.
On July 25, 2014, a warrant was issued for Ray Armstrong charging him with Auto and Residential Burglary.
Armstrong was taken into custody by Petal Police along with suspect Christopher Forte.
Armstrong was already out on probation for Grand Larceny through Forrest County and Arson and Burglary with the Louisiana Department of Corrections.
Both Armstrong and Forte were transported by a Jones County Deputy to the Jones County Adult Detention Center.
Bonds for Armstrong and Forte were set at $10,000.00 each.
Petal Police and the Jones County Sheriff Department has recovered and returned other items taken during this burglary.
