HATTIESBURG, Miss. – For almost 10 years, William Carey University has been expanding, by purchasing properties around the campus.
The campus has increased from 120 to 150 acres.
University officials say the school’s growth is giving them options for future projects.
So far Carey has purchased 52 parcels of land for roughly $2.4 million.
“This property will give us a chance to catch up with that growth by providing new facilities that have been needed for quite some time,” said WCU President, Tommy King.
In addition to the new buildings on campus, old ones have been renovated for more efficient use.
