HATTIESBURG This afternoon kids had the opportunity to choose healthy hygiene and help soldiers currently serving in the armed forces.
Cronin Family Dentistry raised about 50 pounds of Halloween candy to donate to soldiers fighting overseas.
It was their 5th Annual Candy Buy-Back. They gave kids $1 for each pound of candy they brought in.
There was also refreshments, face painting and fun jumps. Kids were also invited to write letters to the soldiers receiving the candy.
Parents say this is a great learning tool for their children.
“We enjoy coming to Cronin Family Dentistry every year because we like to teach our children the importance of supporting our troops, especially at this time of year as we're moving into the holiday season. We want them to feel loved and supported, and this is a great family friendly atmosphere to do that,” said Elizabeth Wittwin, a Hattiesburg mom.”
Dr. Cronin is hosting the candy buy-back at his Laurel office Tuesday, Nov. 5 from 3:30 until 5:30.
